Cowboy Poet #jeffcarson Tells it like it is

Jeff Carson,
Lives in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains and those long nights alone with his mules has led Jeff to spoutin’ poetry and prose like a hot tin coffee pot on a blazin’campfire.
Jeff was born and raised in Utah and has lived in HeberCity for the past 30 years and with his wife has raised four daughters.  His passion in life is spending time on pack trips in the high country and breaking green mule colts.  His life experiences have been the inspiration for most of the poetry he writes.
Jeff thought he hated poetry until he attended the Heber Valley Cowboy Poetry Gathering several years ago.  He laughed so hard he nearly fell off his chair.  He realized it wasn’t poetry, it was storytelling that rhymed.  He has been hooked ever since.  Jeff says that people connect to cowboy poetry.  It’s a part of our culture and like a good movie, it makes you laugh and it makes you cry, and it talks about days gone by.
He loves sharing his talent and is a regular at the annual Heber Valley Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in Heber City every November.  Jeff’s collection of poetry will give you a good laugh or paint you a picture of how things were when the true cowboys roamed the prairie. Jeff also likes to include a moral, or a life lesson in his poetry to make people think.
